Evan is growing like a weed!

We can't believe how fast Evan is growing and changing! He is getting cuter and cuter every day! We think he is definitely over 9 pounds by now and outgrowing his newborn clothes already! Here are some pics from the picture people and some that I have taken over the last couple of days.

Just a little update!

Our 1st Christmas with Evan was wonderful! He was such a good boy with all the traveling and wants to thank everyone for all the presents! He can't wait to play with all the toys real soon. Here are some pics of Evan and all the family.

Merry Christmas to all!

So Evan went for his 2 week checkup today and he is now at 8 lbs 13 ounces and 21 1/4 inches. I can't believe how much he's changed already and he's growing so fast. I know we should just get used to that because it will only continue for many years to come. We are so looking forward to our 1st Christmas with him and our family. We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and each family is as blessed as we are this Christmas. Here are some pics of our little man posing for his 1st Christmas card. Enjoy!

The Best Christmas Present Ever!

Just wanted to stop and update everyone on our family. Evan is such a good baby, Jimmy and I are so lucky. For the most part we've just been hanging out at home and getting adjusted to having a little one around. Thanks to everyone for the calls and visits. We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends. Evan has lots of people to spoil him and I think its starting to work already. Here are some pics from the last couple of days. Mommy can't put down the camera! He seems to change everyday and I don't want to miss a single thing! Enjoy and Merry Christmas to everyone!

Bringing home Evan!

After 5 long days in the hospital, we are finally at home with our new son. Everything is going well so far and he is being such an angel. Just an update on Evan, he now weighs 7lbs 14 ounces and doing very good. His first night home was not so great but last night he only woke me and daddy up twice. So we can't complain, seems like we have a sweet angel! Here are some more pics that we've taken over the last few days! I will update more now that I have a little more time and energy. Thanks again to everyone for their thoughtfulness and prayers.

Welcome to the world Evan John Hicklin!

After much anticipation, we finally have our baby boy. Evan John Hicklin was born on Dec 2nd at 12:40am and weighed 7 lbs 10 ounces and was 21 inches. He had a rough little start but is doing much better now. Mommy and Daddy were so happy to finally meet him along with all of our family. Thanks to all our family and friends for their prayers and support during the long labor process. We could not be more blessed! Here are some pics of Evan's arrival:

Still no baby Evan!

Well, we're still waiting! I went back to the doc on Tuesday and still had no changes besides my cervix being a little thinner. They put me through a series of tests because my BP was slightly high and there was a trace of protein in my urine. So far the tests turned out ok but I'm still waiting to hear back from my 24 hour urine test. I'm sure I'll get the results at my appointment on Monday. So needless to say Thanksgiving was pretty boring around here. We couldn't go far because of the baby and the test so we just hung out and relaxed around the house. We were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving lunch at Cracker Barrell with my parents and Aunt Carly and I was sure hoping that turkey would get Evan moving but no such luck. So Daddy and I have been resting during this holiday weekend and praying for our son to come soon. Everyone says to enjoy the rest while you can but personally I'm sick of resting and being bored. We've decorated for Christmas already and I'm all out of projects, so whenever he is ready will be fine with me. I go back to the doctor tomorrow and hope they give me good news. Everyone keep praying for us and we'll update soon.

Playing the waiting game!

Sorry its been so long since the last update but here goes. So the big day is this week and looks like he is waiting around for that. My last couple of visits to the doctor have basically been about the same. Still 70% effaced and 1.5cm dilated. I was hoping when I went this past Thursday, the news would be a little better but looks like he's really happy in there and not quite ready for his debut. Maybe he's waiting around to be a turkey baby! So we go back to the doctor on Tuesday and let's pray that something has changed. We're so anxious and can't wait to meet him. We'll keep you updated after our appointment on Tuesday and hopefully we'll have a baby this week! Everyone cross your fingers and say your prayers!

We're ready for Evan!

This past weekend Jimmy went camping and the family and I worked on getting the nursery ready. My dad and Jimmy's dad put all the furniture together and us women thought we could handle the stroller, pack-n-play and all the other gadgets. Needless to say, we were wrong. I know Graco is a great product but wow is it hard to put together. I think they had the crib and changing table together in like 2 hours and we were still working on the pack-n-play. With all that said we finished and its ready for Evan. We also decorated the nursery and it looks so good, however it's not quite done but will be by the end of the week hopefully. My friend Anna made the crib bedding and it is absolutely beautiful! She is so talented and we were so lucky to have her do that for us. I can't wait for Evan to see it! That's all for now, I'll update again after my doctor appointment tomorrow. For now enjoy the pics of the nursery!

Landen is finally here! :)

Well little Miss Landen Elyse White finally decided she was ready for the world on Sunday October 26th at 11:28am. She weighed 6 lbs. 12 ounces and is so cute! Mommy, Daddy and baby are doing just fine. She came home today and everyone is catching up on some much needed rest. Here are some pics of the little bundle of joy:

Evan's almost here! :)

Well, we're almost there and we can't wait! The last few weeks have been a little crazy trying to get everything ready and prepared. Since my last post, I had a shower in LA with all of my favorite girls! It was so good to get together and see everyone and reminisce on old times. I love seeing everyones children, they are all growing up so fast. I can't wait until Evan gets to play with all the kids! My friend Anna made all of the crib bedding and it looks awesome! We will be setting up the nursery this weekend and I can't wait! I'll post pics real soon after that gets completed.

We also took a breastfeeding class to prepare us as much as possible for that. It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot. Hope it all goes well once he gets here. We're working on completing the birthing class right now too. So hopefully, we'll be as prepared as we can be when it all happens!

We're still waiting on Landen to get here as well! I know Jennifer and Justin can't wait! I know we can't! Hopefully we'll get to see her real soon.

I've been to the doctor twice since my last post and everything is still right on schedule. The doc says Evan weighs close to 5 lbs already so he's going to be a big boy! I really can't complain about the pregnancy, so far everything has gone so well and I've felt so good. Everyone pray it continues to be that way over the next few weeks.

Here are some pics from the LA shower and some of me and Aunt Carly. She and Aunt Laura just celebrated their birthdays this past week! Oh yeah, Jimmy and I are celebrating our 4th anniversary this week! We can't believe its been 4 years and we couldn't be more blessed! Enjoy and I'll update real soon.

33 1/2 weeks....Not that we're counting or anything!

Sorry its been so long since the last post but we've been a little busy. Little Evan is doing well according to the doctors and mommy is growing by the day. I had a shower for work last Sunday at California Dreaming and we had a ball. Just the girls from work got together and we ate and opened gifts. Our spare bedroom which is soon to be Evan's room is getting really full! I'm starting to wonder where in the world all this stuff is going to go. Jimmy and I have both been so blessed with wonderful family and friends. We thank god everyday for all the many blessings. So our first addition to our group of friends is almost here and we can't wait to meet her. Jennifer and Justin are expecting a little girl, Landen Elyse White, and we can't wait for her and Evan to grow up together. They'll be about a month apart so lets hope they get along with each other! I'm sure they will! :) Here's a pic of Mommy's growing belly!

30 weeks today...only 10 to go!

It's so hard to believe we only have 10 weeks left. Time is flying by for us. We had our 1st baby shower this weekend and where else but at the Carolina Game! Everyone knows we are die hard Gamecocks and this proves it. I want to thank all of our wonderful friends that hosted the shower, Jimmy and I are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. We got some great stuff for little Evan and we can't wait to put it to use. Evan's Uncle Wahoo made him his 1st golf club and boy was Daddy excited about that. We also got lots of Gamecock gear for Evan. The 1st he has gotten if you can believe that! Yes, I held off buying any Gamecock stuff and I can't even believe I did it. Check out the pics from the shower below!
